02-Aug-2012 – The 56th European Go Congress took place in Germany in Bad Godesberg near Bonn, but as the adjacent Confluence points seemed to be not very interesting, we decided to do an extended afternoon trip to the small country of Luxembourg and its one and only Confluence point.

Following the E29 (A1 and B51), then the B410 we approached the border. Already before reaching Luxembourg the roads became narrower and more and more winding. In Luxembourg we took the roads 10 and 326 until we entered coming from the North the village of Enscherange. We parked the car at the village in a small side street (Op der Schleckt) South-East of the CP and walked the remaining 500 meters. As the Spot is appealingly marked with a steel ball and documented with information panels in German and French (on the weather side), you wouldn't need a GPS for a successful visit. The sun dial set up here didn't show the time for lack of sun. We read the information panels and if we had more sandwiches with us, we could have made a little pic-nic.

As the pictures show, the point lies on the ridge of a hill on the edge of a small forest . The field path coming from Enscherange, which lies in the valley and can't be seen from here, continues to go up the hill in the general direction of a cell phone tower. To the South you can see the villages of Wilwerwiltz and Pintsch, which belong together with Enscherange to the commune of Kiischpelt.

Usually the narratives end here, this time I have to mention that on the way back we had a flat tire on a German country road and had to practice the art of changing a tire. The whole distance covered on this day was about 380 kilometers.
