12-Jun-2004 -- The Degree Confluence Tour Baden-Württemberg.

What can you do, when it is not possible anymore, to be the first to visit a Confluence Point in your own Homeland? I (Burkhard) checked the Points in Baden-Württemberg on confluence.org and decided, to be the first person, who visits all five points, and this during one single day. Susanne immediately was willing to join, and so the journey could start.

The distance from the third point 48N 10E is 74,4 km as the crow flies (this is already 1,5 km more than on the 49th parallel) or 100 km only over roads because there is no motorway in East-West-direction here. This requied a good co-pilot with distinguished skills in map-reading, what Susanne mastered in an outstanding way. The route went through Ellwangen, Bad Waldsee, Aulendorf, Altshausen, Ostrach, Krauchenwies, Messkirch and Worndorf. On the road from Worndorf to Buchheim we missed the field track another time, had to turn around at the entry of Buchheim and reached our next goal at about 16:40. The Confluence Point is located on a longish meadow, which is located very pictorial between two forests. We made our fotos and while we used this nice place for a little picknick we calculated, that we had a good chance, to really reach all five points on this day. From here we moved to West to 48N 8E.
