31-Okt-2025 -- Wir fahren die Schlucht immer weiter hinauf, vorbei an kleinen Ortschaften. Nach Tirga geht es weiter Richtung Süden und immer noch bergan bis Assoul. Von da ab geht es wieder in eine Schlucht und ab Ait Hani auf der RN12 in die berühmte Todra-Schlucht, die an ihrer engsten Stelle von vielen Touristen besucht wird. Kurz vor der Dämmerung halten wir am Hotel „Panorama Todra“ – eine sehr angenehme Unterkunft mit Blick über das grüne Tal.

Am nächsten Morgen fahren wir weiter zum nächsten Confluenzpunkt – westlich von Ouarzazate. Vorher biegen wir zum großen Solarkraftwerk ab. Im Ort Izarki fahren wir auf einen Berg, doch einen wirklichen Überblick auf das Kraftwerk bekommen wir auch dort nicht. In Ouarzazate besuchen wir die in Restaurierung befindliche „Taourirt Todra Kasbah“ gegenüber des Filmmuseums. Dann fahren wir durch die neuen Stadtteile immer weiter bis zu einer Piste, die, vorbei an einer großen Burg, Richtung des Confluenzpunkts führt. Wir finden immer weitergehende Spuren und fahren zum Schluss über eine glatte Steinfläche, bis wir in unserem Auto alle Nullen auf dem GPS haben. Wir sind etwa 6 km von der Straße entfernt. Das letzte Gelände scheint immer mal wieder durch Militär genutzt zu werden.

Bei der Rückfahrt erkennen wir, dass die Burg eine große Filmkulisse ist und es etwas weiter noch andere solche Bauwerke gibt. Wir fahren an dem Abend noch bis nach Ait Ben Haddou – einer Weltkulturerbestätte, die auch als Kulisse für viele Filme diente. Wir erleben das Licht des Sonnenuntergangs auf die Anlage von unserem Hotelfenster aus. Nach einem ausgiebigen Besuch dieser Anlage am nächsten Tag fahren wir gegen Mittag weiter.

31-Oct-2025 -- We continue driving up the gorge, passing small villages. After Tirga, we continue south and uphill to Assoul. From there, we drive through another gorge and, from Ait Hani, take the RN12 into the famous Todra Gorge, which is visited by many tourists at its narrowest point. Shortly before dusk, we stop at the Hotel Panorama Todra, a very pleasant place to stay with views over the green valley.

The next morning, we continue on to the next confluence point – west of Ouarzazate. Before that, we turn off to visit the large solar power plant. In the village of Izarki, we drive up a mountain, but even from there we cannot get a real overview of the power plant. In Ouarzazate, we visit the Taourirt Todra Kasbah, which is currently undergoing restoration, opposite the film museum. Then we drive through the new districts until we reach a track that leads past a large castle towards the confluence point. We find more and more tracks and finally drive over a smooth stone surface until we have all zeros on the GPS in our car. We are about 6 km away from the road. The last area seems to be used by the military from time to time.

On the way back, we realize that the castle is a large film set and that there are other such buildings a little further on. That evening, we drive on to Ait Ben Haddou, a World Heritage Site that has also served as set for many films. We watch the sunset over the complex from our hotel window. After spending the next day exploring the complex, we continue our journey around midday.
