Klock Brrrrrrrrrr - Der Toyo springt zuverlässig an wie immer. Zum letzten Mal freuen wir uns über das typische Geräusch. Das Panorama des Ararat begleitet uns von Armenien bis hinein in die Ost-Türkei. Wir huschen kurz durch das immer wieder vielseitige Georgien. Die beste Baklava der Welt gibt es wirklich im umkämpften Kurdistan (Nord-Irak), den spektakulärsten Sonnenaufgang auch 30 Jahe später immer noch am Nemrut Dağı (Türkei) und die bunteste Ballonfahrt über den bizarren Tuffstein-Landschaften von Kappadokien (Türkei). Wir tracken Spomenik und Konfluenze auf Graten und in den Schluchten des Balkan: Von einem Ufo in Bulgarien geht’s zum Donau-Strand in Serbien. Die europäische Grenzpatrouille nimmt uns in Kroatien in Empfang und der Euro in Slowenien. Die europäischen Sommer-Urlauber-Ströme treiben uns schnell über den Wurzenpass nach Österreich. Bei Nacht meistert das "Fahrzeug mit Erfahrung" den gefürchteten Irschenberg und biegt wohlbehalten in die Hofeinfahrt in Deutschland ein. Dies ist die Fortsetzung von 45°N 19°E.

Der Weiler Modrovec ist eigentlich mehr ein Auf und Ab wo irgendwo verstreut an den Steilhängen der Hügel des Kroatischen Hochlands (Hrvatsko Zagorje, [1]) Häuser hängen. Auf den Graten der Berge sitzen wie wilde Reiter nagelneue Feriendomizile, teils mit Swimming Pool, deren Interieur man auf Airbnb bestaunen kann. Die Rebenreihen der Weinberge sehen aus wie Satteldecken, die über den steilen Gratrücken geworfen wurden. Etwas versteckter, geschützt zwischen Bäumen, hängen alte Katen zwischen eingewachsenen Obstplantagen (Bild 7 und Bild 8).

Die Konfluenz liegt am äußersten Nordosten der Gemarkung von Modrovec an einer engen einspurigen Straße, die über einen Grat von Modrovec nach Lepa Ves führt. Das Privatgrundstück ist nicht umzäunt. Zirka 20 km Luftlinie entfernt, auf der anderen Seite des Bärenberg (Medvednica, [2]), liegt die kroatische Hauptstadt Zagreb.

05-Aug-2022 -- Riding the Ridge

Clock Brrrrrrrr - The Toyo starts reliably like always. For the last time we welcome the typical engine noise. The panorama of Mount Ararat accompanies us from Armenia into eastern Turkey. We briefly slip through the all-time varied Georgia and enjoy the best baklava of the world in Kurdistan (Northern Iraq), the most spectacular sunrise at Nemrut Dağı (Turkey) and the most colourful balloon ride over the bizarre tuff landscapes of Cappadocia (Turkey). We track spomeniks and confluences on ridges and in the gorges of the Balkans: from a UFO in the fog of Bulgaria to sunset over the Danube beach in Serbia. The European border patrol welcomes us in Croatia and the Euro in Slovenia. The European summer tourists' crowds drive us quickly over the Wurzen Pass into Austria. At night, the experienced vehicle masters the much-feared Irschenberg and turns into the courtyard entry in Germany. This continues the story of 45°N 19°E

The settlement of Modrovec is actually more of an up-and-down area where houses are scattered somewhere on the steep slopes of the hills of the Croatian Highlands (Hrvatsko Zagorje [1]). Brand-new holiday homes, some with swimming pools, sit on the ridges of the mountains like wild horsemen, and you can check out their interiors on Airbnb. The rows of vines of the vineyards look like saddle blankets thrown over the steep ridges. Somewhat more hidden and protected among the trees, old cottages hang between overgrown orchards (pic 7 and pic 8).

The confluence is located at the Northeastern most point of the Modrovec area on a narrow single-lane road that leads over a ridge from Modrovec to Lepa Ves. The private property is not fenced in. Approximately 20 km away as the crow flies, on the other side of Medvednica Mountain [2], lies the Croatian capital of Zagreb.
