04-Aug-2020 -- One and a half month earlier I had made a bicycle trip from Tallinn to Riga visiting 8 confluence points. In Riga, I had difficulties taking my bicycle in the plane – so I spontaneously decided to leave my bicycle at the airport hotel. 6 weeks later I returned to Riga to continue the trip, visiting another 7 confluence points.
This is the first out of 7 confluence reports on my one-week bicycle trip (1100 km) from Riga to Warsaw.
Please don’t read further, because I am convinced that I will bore you with uneventful confluence reports. Anyway, it is about my 100th bicycle trip that I am reporting at this website.
On the day before confluence day, I hopped out of the plane at 5 PM in Riga started cycling southwards one hour later. After spending the night in southern Latvia in a nice country house, I crossed the border into Lithuania the next day and reached this confluence point in the early afternoon.
I parked my bicycle in 500 m distance from the confluence point (at the roadside) and walked between agricultural fields to the zero location. The field was barren and besides some dandelion, nothing was growing at the time of my visit.
After the confluence visit I continued cycling southwards in heavy rain and spent the night in a rental flat in the town Anykščiai.
