11-Oct-2004 -- We finished the successful ascent of Carrauntohill at about 3pm and headed off the 20km or so further west to get the next confluence :- looking South.
It was tricky finding somewhere to park the car and we ended up parking in a lane about 1km away near the lake. We headed off along the lake and over some walls before heading off up the slope and several more walls with inquisitive sheep watching our every move.
On the spot, and the views North, East and West.
We came back the way we had intended going and just leaving the field were met as the previous visitor by a rush of sheep expertly guided by 2 sheepdogs. The elderly farmer again commenting on the weather remarking it was a beautiful day which indeed it was as we made the ascent completely in the dry.
And so north...
