01-Sep-2012 -- I live near Cologne and therefore this confluence point is very easy and very fast to reach. The confluence point is located pretty much directly in the middle between the S-Bahn stations Mülheim and Bayerwerk in a field that is bordering the railway tracks.

My journey began on a Saturday morning at Cologne Central Station, where I took an S-Bahn to Düsseldorf. Between the stations Mülheim and Bayerwerk the S-Bahn is passing the confluence point in about 20m to 40m distance and less than a minute after leaving Mülheim I could see a field of sugar beets. Actually I could not identify the plants on the field as sugar beets until I reached the field. I left the S-Bahn at Bayerwerk and took a bus to Flittard Süd. This stop is about 150 meters away from the road "Grüner Kuhweg" that crossses the railway line between Cologne and Düsseldorf and that leads to the confluence point in the field of sugar beets after another 750 meters. Surveying the railroad tracks along the north, you can see a building with the Bayer logo on the left side of the tracks and a street on the right side of the tracks, that can be reached by following the Grüner Kuhweg and its 180-degree turn. The road runs about 150 meters along the train tracks and then turns to the right passing the field of sugar beets.

I feared at first that the confluence point is located in the middle of the field and that I could not get to the exakt position as I did not want to trample the sugar beets but luckily I found all the zeros on the western edge of the field in front of the trees between the first and second row of the sugar beets. In this part of the field there were not only sugar beets but there were also a lot of grasses, thistles and other weeds. After about 20 minutes at the confluence point I went back to the bus stop and took a bus to Cologne Central Station.
