12-Aug-2006 -- After nearly two years of not getting to any confluence points Daniel and I decided to do it again and visit one. As with the other ones we had visited together we went by bike. We planned to go from my home near Cologne to the "Neandertal-Valley" near Düsseldorf.
We used a planning tool for cycling tour (made by the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia). A cool feature of this site is that you can download a gps track of the tour you planned. After writing a little script and some reformating we could upload the track to our GPS.
On our way we used the bike track "Erlebnisweg Rheinschiene" to Leverkusen. A few meters before crossing the city border from Cologne-Flittard to Leverkusen. We accidently flowed the B8 into Leverkusen, which was wrong. So we had to go back to the north. As described in the other reports we found "Grüner Kuhweg" and followed it eastwards over the railbridge. After to curves we had to leave the road and head into the field to find confluence point 51°N 7°E approximatly 50m from the road.
