Day 3/4 (previous day: n53e017, next day: n52e021)

The GPS-users rally has brought to an end with a full success. There were about 20 persons, all of us enjoyed the meeting very much. The most persevering were conferring till the dawn.

Today all are leaving home without a hurry, but I’m heading for Warsaw instead of going home. After passing Łowicz I’m taking route no 70 towards Skierniewice. After some time I turn right heading for the next confluence. It’s getting dark, because it’s after six p.m..

For the reason of being late I have neglected the weather conditions and that was my big mistake. It was a really difficult confluence. Snow was very wet and sometimes very deep, sometimes there were mud under it.

When I reached very close to the degree confluence it turned out that the goal is inside a young forest, that have got very dense last years. I was walking around some time before I’ve found the shortest access. Dense and wet branches have made reaching the destination very difficult. At least I reached the point and it turned out that the confluence was in such place that allows to make some easy moves. The view was the same in every direction: trees 1-2 meters away from me. Because the shortest distance to the end of the young forest was in the west direction, I took the picture in that direction from outside the forest. Apart from the darkness, a very deep fog started to reign. Without my GPS receiver probably I haven’t been able to return to the car. Late evening I reached Góra Kalwaria, the place of my accommodation for the night.

Zlot GPS-owców zakończył się pełnym sukcesem. Było nas ok. 20 osób, wszyscy bawili się świetnie, najbardziej wytrwali obradowali do białego rana.

Dzisiaj wszyscy powoli rozjeżdżają się do domów, a ja zamiast wracać kieruję się w stronę Warszawy. Po minięciu Łowicza jadę drogą nr 70 w kierunku Skierniewic, aby po jakimś czasie skręcić w prawo w kierunku przecięcia. Powoli robi się ciemno, jest już po 18-ej.

Ze względu na pośpiech trochę zlekceważyłem warunki pogodowe i to był mój błąd. To było trudne przecięcie. Śnieg był bardzo mokry i miejscami dosyć głęboki, często ukrywał pod sobą błoto.

Gdy dotarłem do przecięcia okazało się, że znajduje się ono w środku młodnika, który zrobił się już bardzo gęsty. Długo chodziłem dookoła, zanim znalazłem najkrótsze dojście. Gęste i mokre gałęzie skutecznie utrudniały mi dojście do celu. W końcu dotarłem i okazało się, że przecięcie jest w takim miejscu, które pozwalało na w miarę swobodne poruszanie się. Widok w każda stronę z przecięcia jest jednakowy: drzewa w odległości 1-2 m. Ale ponieważ najbliżej do granicy młodnika było w kierunku zachodnim, zdjęcie w tamtym kierunku zrobiłem już spoza młodnika. Oprócz ciemności zaczęła dodatkowo panować bardzo gęsta mgła. Prawdopodobnie bez GPS-u do auta bym nie wrócił.

Późnym wieczorem dotarłem do Góry Kalwarii.
