25-Oct-2003 -- On viewing the web sight we noticed that there were three CPs in a row and they were situated along the Trans Australian Railway, which is a 1782km railway running from Port Augusta in South Australia to Kalgoorlie in Western Australia. The line roughly follows the 31°S latitude in Western Australia and incorporates the longest straight stretch of railway in the world (478km).

Having left Esperance on the evening of the 24th Oct, we travelled 500kms to the Trans Line east of Kalgoorlie where we camped for the night before visiting 31°S 123°E and 31°S 124°E.

Feeling quite jaded by this time, we continued a further 95kms to our final CP, which to our relief was situated on the western edge of the Nullabor Plain (latin for treeless plain) where the ground-covering vegetation was very sparse and allowed us visibility past the 800m to the CP.

The following day we returned to Esperance via Zanthus and Balladonia which gave us a round trip of 1300kms to complete the confluence visits.
