04-Aug-2025 -- Em janeiro de 2024, eu fiz uma viagem de uma semana pelos estados de Goiás e Mato Grosso para visitar confluências. Eu tinha 10 registros em mente, mas só consegui 5, devido às chuvas típicas da época de verão. Algumas não foram alcançadas devido à própria chuva, e outras em razão de alagamentos nas estradas de terra. O registro daquela viagem começa na tentativa anterior a esta confluência.

Agora, um ano e meio depois, eu resolvi refazer esse mesmo itinerário, para tentar visitar as cinco confluências que faltaram e, talvez, tentar outras. A expectativa é que, no inverno, as chuvas não seriam um empecilho para essas tentativas.

Saí de Montes Claros sábado, dia 2 de agosto, e viajei 700 quilômetros até Brasília, onde passei a noite. No dia seguinte, participei de uma reunião virtual ao longo de toda a manhã e, por isso, fiquei na cidade.

Na segunda-feira, 4 de agosto, retomei a viagem às 7h15, seguindo direto até a confluência 14S 49W, uma confluência que eu já tentei visitar duas vezes, em ambas não conseguindo meu intento devido à chuva. Além da já citada tentativa de janeiro de 2024, eu havia tentado também três anos antes, em janeiro de 2021, em uma longa viagem de Minas Gerais até os estados do Pará e do Maranhão.

Após viajar por 330 quilômetros, iniciei o trecho em estrada de terra, de 14 quilômetros. Desta vez, realmente, não havia nenhum sinal de chuva e percorri sem dificuldade a estrada, que estava, inclusive, em ótimas condições.

Parei o carro e iniciei a caminhada por um trecho de campo aberto, de fácil caminhada. Após os primeiros 500 metros, me deparei com o que parecia ser uma mata fechada. Eu sabia, porém, a partir das fotos de satélite, que se tratava apenas de uma estreita faixa de divisão entre duas áreas. E, de fato, atravessei sem dificuldade os 20 metros de largura da mata, que não era tão fechada quanto parecia.

O trecho final de 590 metros foi por uma área de mato, que também não trouxe grandes dificuldades. Cheguei até 11 metros da confluência, porque o ponto exato, aí sim, localiza-se em uma área de mata muito fechada.

Fiz todo o caminho de volta até a rodovia, retornei pela BR-153 por 35 quilômetros até a cidade de Campinorte. Nesse percurso, parei para tomar um lanche, em substituição ao almoço. Em Campinorte, peguei a rodovia GO-428, em direção à segunda confluência do dia.

04-Aug-2025 -- In January 2024, I had made a one-week trip by Goiás and Mato Grosso states, in order to visit confluences. I had had 10 confluences in my plan, but only had managed to visit five of them, due to the rain, typical in Brazilian summer. Some of them weren’t reached due to the rain itself, and other due to dirt road flooding. The narrative of that trip starts at this confluence’s previous attempt.

Now, one and a half year after, I decided to remake this same itinerary, in order to attempt the five remaining confluences and, maybe, attempt other ones. The expectancy is that, in winter, the rain wouldn’t spoil these attempts.

I left Montes Claros city, Minas Gerais state, at August 2nd, and travelled 700 kilometers up to Brasília city, where I spent the night. At the following day, I was in a virtual meeting during the whole morning and, then, I stayed at the city.

At Monday, August 4th, I resumed the trip at 7:15, heading straight to 14S 49W confluence, a confluence that I had attempted two times, both unsuccessful due to the rain. Beyond the cited attempt at January 2024, I had also attempted three years before, at January 2021, in a long trip from Minas Gerais state to Pará and Maranhão states.

After travelling by 330 kilometers, I started the dirt road leg, 14 kilometers long. At this time, really, there wasn’t any signal of rain, and I drove the road without any hardness, which was, by the way, in very good condition.

I stopped the car and started the hiking by an open area, easily walkable. After the first 500 meters, I faced what looks like a dense jungle. I had knew, however, by satellite photos, that it is only a narrow forest dividing two areas. And, really, I crossed easily the 20 meters wide forest, which wasn’t so dense as it looks like.

The remaining 590 meters was by a bush area, also easily walkable. I went up to 11 meters to the confluence, because the exact point locates in a very dense jungle.

I made all the way back to the highway, came back by BR-135 highway by 35 kilometers up to Campinorte city. In this way, I stopped to take a snack, replacing the lunch. In Campinorte, I caught GO-428 highway, heading to the second confluence of the day.
