25-Dec-2013 -- Our first Confluence, and what an easy way to start! A while ago we were visited by a German cyclist and avid confluence hunter named Rainer Mautz, he told us all about his hunting exploits and we became hooked with the idea.
We'd been camping in the Gibraltar Range National Park for a few nights and decided while driving back home to get our first Confluence in the bag. As I said, it was rather easy, but exciting none the less. We turned off the New England Highway just north of Tenterfield by some farm houses onto Geyers Road, this took us 100 metres from the point.
We were a little unsure of whether to look for a farmer or not, but after looking at the fences which easily opened we decided to just go straight in and find it.
The Confluence is much the same as described in previous sightings, with the only difference that this time there were some curious cows instead of the sheep that Owen Foley had seen 13 years earlier.
We're both very excited to find the next Confluence!
