#1: View towards the confluence

(visited by Ole Henseler)

22-Jun-2009 -- After 2 Confluences in Germany and one in Belgium earlier that day, I arrived in Wichelen at a nice sunny evening. I parked the car at the main road and the GPS showed me a distance to the confluence of about 400 m.

I crossed the rail road tracks and walked along a small path between two fields until I reached the confluence. No confluence dance was necessary, the signal was so strong that it stayed for several minutes at the zeros. I never had such a stable signal before. I took my pictures and went back to the car. An old lady living next to the railway tracks asked me what I was searching for and where I came from.

I tried to explain her the reasons, why I had driven many kilometers to walk between the fields. She said that she lived in this village for 45 years but she had never seen strange lines crossing in a field... She wanted to see the photos, I had taken. I showed her the pics and she looked at me as if I were crazy. No lines to see...But she was happy that I had found everything I need and wished me a nice evening. Probably everyone in Wichelen will soon know about the German stranger searching for invisible lines...
