English Version

16-May-2002 -- Once again we were on the way to the annual meeting of the Jeep Club of Germany which is held in Ballenstedt in the former German Democratic Republic. This time, we don´t have to go alone there, because Michael, also known as "Raveman" in the Jeepforum (www.jeepforum.de), joins us on our way to the east. He drives a Jeep Cherokee as well.

Rolling through little villages in the Harz mountains we reach Eilsdorf. There, at the edge of the village we´ve parked our cars and countinued our journey by foot. After almost 500 ft. the GPS lead us on the field right beside the street. We´ve to cross it and after another 150 ft we´ve reached the confluence point. The GPS signal was very clear so it took only a few minutes to get a picture of the reciever showing the perfect "three zeros". We take some pictures of the surrounding area and then we hurry back to our cars. We don´t want to come to Ballenstedt late because the possibilites for legal offroading here in Germany are quite rare and limited.
