#1: looking west at the end of our first attempt

(visited by David Mower and Curtis Mower)

17-Aug-2001 -- Curtis and I traveled to New Hampshire where he will be a graduate student at the University of New Hampshire. This confluence was nearby. Even though it had been visited already, the visitor was none other than DCP Founder, Alex Jarrett. I thought it would be fun to visit one of "his" confluences.

We tried from two different directions, but never reached the site. Our first attempt was from the west near a petroleum processing plant. Curtis had on short pants. The stickers on the wild blackberry bushes finally turned us back. We found several wells in the area.

The second attempt was from the east. We hiked across a field. It soon became apparent that we were headed back into the stickers. We abandoned the effort at that point.

We had a great time together. A bad day exploring is better than any other day.
