16-Apr-2010 -- Spring 2010 Holiday
Visit 1 of 5
We have decided to have a week in Scotland to have a break from me working 70 hour weeks. A few weeks back I got a Campylobacter infection (a notifiable disease in the UK), which knocked me back a bit.
A colleague of a similar age collapsed at work and is still off two months later, makes you think a bit...
...we looked around a bit but didn't make a decision. Then we went to Crufts to meet up with the breeder of our dog Oscar, we decided to go to the Perth area so we could take Oscar back for a visit.
A bit of internet searching, combined with Google Earth and street view and we (well, Lynn actually) had very quickly (only two weeks) picked our destination.
As we are taking Oscar with us I decided to go up the East coast route so we could do lots of stops, and coincidentally go past some CP's.
Up at 5am, load up the car and on the road just after 6am. About 100 minutes later and we pull up at the parking place for 53N-01W.
Leaving Lynn to listen to the radio I set off with Oscar giving him a run and a break from the car. Now Oscar is a very clever dog and I explained to him very carefully where we were going and what we were doing. He must have understood as he stood guard at the point.
The field has been planted and the grass is still wet with dew. The corner of the field with the CP hasn't been planted, so a simple stroll across. Click off the photo's, back to the car, a quick drink for Oscar and onwards towards Scotland, stopping next at 54N-01W.
