(visited by Gordon Spence and Dave Patton)

15-Jul-2008 -- After yesterday's visits to 54N-01W and 54N-02W, today was going to be an easier day in terms of exercise, but driving probably a bit further. Up bright and early'ish and round to the hotel to collect Dave at 8.30. The plan was to have breakfast at the American diner but it was shut :-(

Never mind, drive 3 miles up the road and pop into a well known fast food restaurant for brekkie. Suitably refreshed we set off to this, the worlds most visited confluence point. By a large margin.

Parked at the normal spot and I again asked Dave to lead off. We meandered in, then when we got to the edge of the field we used my local knowledge to enter the field.

The farmer was spraying the crops, I hoped we would get a chance to have a word, but he went off around the perimeter and never came back. Compared to my last visit the flowers are all gone and it looks like the crop is ready to be harvested.

A little bit of shuffling off the tractor track saw us get to the exact spot, where I showed Dave the Garmin oddity of flip-flopping E/W while not moving at all. His did it as well. That's 4 different models and they have all done it.

Back track out and into the car, looping around London to head for the second Prime Meridian confluence of the day at 51N-00.
