23-Apr-2012 -- In a business and pleasure travel to United States, as usual I try to identify what confluences are close to visit. On this occasion been in San Antonio, Texas to attend a Conference, I decided to visit 31N 97W the pre-conference day and to enjoy the Texas Prairies with my wife.

I rent a vehicle at San Antonio’s airport and the lady serving me proposes me rent with GPS, but I told her that I had 2 GPS with me. I leave the rental car parking lot, and when I try to turn on my Garmin GPS 276c this fails. Other GPS is a Garmin Oregon 550t which has a very small screen to take care navigation prompts and drive at the same time. I think the problem is the 276c battery and my wife suggested I buy a GPS since we would need in Orlando because we would spend there 3 weeks there visiting our son. So we go to a Wal-Mart store and buy a Garmin Nuvi, turn it on and finally started our trip to 31N 97W.

We left San Antonio by Interstate 35 northward up to the town of Round Rock, where we turned to East on the road 79. We continue along this route to Rockdale, where we took the road 77 North and joint later with the 190 to the North also. In the town of Cameron, we continue along the highway 77, until we found the country road 134.

I parked the vehicle on the side of the dirt road, and started a short walk of about 400 meters. The CP is located in a field with electrified fence, but I can locate a step where the fence was falling. In a few minutes I was already doing the glorious Confluence Dance. I take required photos, return to the vehicle where my wife was waiting for me and we started the way back to San Antonio, to celebrate the visit of this Confluence and the famous festival name Fiesta, that is coincidentally celebrated throughout this week that we will spend in San Antonio.

Later been at the hotel, I check the GPS 276c and found that the problem was that the battery was discharged and the charger that I use with the vehicle was not working. Fortunately, the GPS is in good condition and I only need to buy a new charger for the vehicle which I will do calmly in Orlando.

The hunt continues in 28°N 82°W.
