#1: Looking north through treeline

(visited by Robert Fenske, Jr.)

15-Jan-2005 -- This confluence is rather easy to reach. Coming south down US77 I drove until my GPS unit reported that I had passed south of the confluence. I turned around and eventually parked off the road more or less due east of the confluence. The road is about 500m from the confluence. I set off walking along an east-west line of trees separating two fields. In short order I was at the confluence, just south of the tree line. At this point my shoes had about an inch of the wet dirt caked onto them. The field was basically empty, filled with damp, dark soil. It looked pretty much the same as visit #2. I took four north, east, south, west pictures, plus one of my GPS unit. This confluence is noteworthy for me since I first had planned to visit it on the way back from my drive up to near Waco to watch the Columbia reentry on 01 Feb 2003. After watching the Shuttle disintegrate I wasn't in the mood and I wanted to get back to San Antonio to get my pictures developed.
