  25°S 117°E (visit #1) (incomplete)

(visited by Rod Kevill and Sandra Kevill)

03-Oct-2004 -- This was day 3 of our 6-day touring holiday through the Gascoyne - Murchison region of Western Australia. Having just completed an extremely easy visit to 25°S 118°E on Mt Clere earlier in the day, we were highly optimistic about this confluence. We had telephoned Ritchie Brennan, the owner of Landor station to obtain permission and he had suggested a track which might take us close to the confluence. However, by the time we reached Landor, it was getting late and I suspect we tried the wrong track. We managed to get within 2.9km by about 6pm (S25 00.987 E116 58.645), but the walk in would have been in the dark.

My wife Sandra and I reluctantly decided that this one would have to wait for another trip. We headed back to the main road, and caught up with my brother John and his wife Mariane who had continued on along the Carnarvon-Mullewa road towards Dairy Creek in search of a suitable camping spot. We were planning to visit 25°S 116°E the next day, which turned out to be a successful visit.
