12-Jun-2004 -- Die Degree Confluence Tour Baden-Württemberg.

Was macht man, wenn es nicht mehr möglich ist, als Erster einen Confluence Punkt in seiner eigenen Heimat zu besuchen? Ich (Burkhard) betrachtete auf confluence.org die Punkte in Baden-Württemberg und beschloss, der Erste zu sein, der alle fünf Punkte besucht, und zwar an einem Tag. Susanne war sofort bereit, mitzumachen, und so konnte es losgehen.

Die Strecke vom ersten Punkt 49N 9E aus beträgt 72,9 km Luftlinie oder 120 km über Landstraßen, die A8 , die A6 und von der Ausfahrt Ilshofen wieder über Landstraßen durch Großaltdorf, Vellberg, Bühlertann, Fronrot und Kammerstatt. Diesmal fanden wir den richtigen Waldweg auf Anhieb und fuhren direkt auf den Confluencepunkt zu. Nach Überquerung einer kleinen Bachbrücke stellten wir das Auto an einer Wegkreuzung nur etwa 150 m von unserem Ziel entfernt ab. Auch hier war eine Infotafel aufgestellt, die allerdings bei diesem Abstand nach den Regeln des DCP nur als „incomplete“ gelten kann. Wir gingen den Weg noch etwas weiter entlang und suchten nach einem „Fußweg“, der auf der Top25 eingezeichnet war und sich vor Ort als Waldschneise entpuppte. Auf dem sehr unebenem Grund und in dem dichten Gras kamen wir nur langsam voran. Der eigentliche Confluencepunkt befindet sich etwa 25 m abseits dieser Schneise und aufgrund des dichten Unterholzes verzichteten wir darauf, noch weiter vorzudringen. Es war bereits 13:00, daher fotografierten wir die vier Himmelsrichtungen und den Blick in das Unterholz von dort wo wir waren und machten uns wieder auf den Weg, jetzt nach Süden, zu 48N 10E.

What can you do, when it is not possible anymore, to be the first to visit a Confluence Point in your own Homeland? I (Burkhard) checked the Points in Baden-Württemberg on confluence.org and decided, to be the first person, who visits all five points, and this during one single day. Susanne immediately was willing to join, and so the journey could start.

The distance from the first point 49N 9E is 72,9 km as the crow flies or 120 km on roads, the motorways A8 and A6 and again on roads through Großaltdorf, Vellberg, Bühlertann, Fronrot and Kammerstatt. This time, we immediately found the right forest track and took the direct way to the Confluence Point. After crossing a small bridge, we parked the car at a crossing, 150 m away from our goal. Like at the last Confluence Point an Info Board was set up here, which according to the rules of the DCP can only count as “incomplete”, because of the distance. We followed the way and looked for a specific path that was mentioned on the Top25 map, but this path finally turned out to be only a forest aisle. On the very unevenly ground and the dense grass we advanced slowly. The actual Confluence Point is located about 25 m away from this forest aisle, and because of the tight underbrush we did not go any further. It was already 1:00 p.m., therefore we took fotos of the four directions and the view into the woods from where we were and continued our tour in direction South, to 48N 10E.
