05-Oct-2003 -- Coming from 31N 36E toward `Aqaba, our final destination, we agreed to do a detour to try to grasp this Confluence. After having turning left toward the border to Saudi Arabia we were quite disappointed to see that a fence had been built and could eventually prevent us to go off road. Hopefully a few kilometres before leaving the tarmac the fence turned north and disappeared in the horizon.

When we finally left the road we were still 6.6 km from our target. We started to worry as the sun was getting dangerously down and we did not know if a track would lead us close to the point. But like in all fairy tales we were lucky enough to find one that brought us 20 meters from the point. We barely took the pictures in time before sunset, and rapidly aimed back to the road before it was too dark.

Having done those two Confluences at the start of our trip in Jordan we knew that we will be sleeping well for the rest of our stay and that we will dream of other confluence hunting trips.
