31-Aug-2003 -- Unfortunately, this confluence is not reachable by simply walking to the rim of the Grand Canyon. It requires rapelling down a few hundred feet. I parked off the side of the road and hiked to the rim. I found that the previous visit mentioned the SA problem and inaccurate GPS readings. Well, the confluence is 210 meters from the rim and down into the Canyon. I don't know if this will change the status of the confluence as not reached. The first picture is north from the rim out to where the confluence would be. Only hundreds of feet below. This might prove one of the toughest confluences. The closest rim point is a 10 minute walk from the highway.
