(visited by David Mower and Diane Mower)

09-Jul-2003 -- After our visit to 44N 109W a couple of hours earlier, Diane and I traveled east, southeast, east and then north to Worland, WY. The trip took us through unimproved and uncultivated sagebrush and desert lands. However, as we approached Worland, signs of civilization began to appear. There were a few farms with a farm home and irrigated fields.

We turned onto Highway 20 to go north and the signs of civilization increased. There was an automobile repair business on our right and on our left a dirt road leading through irrigated fields toward a house.

We took the road and were led to a small canal filled with water. As with most canals, a road ran next to it. We followed the road and soon found the point. The GPS zeroed out on the road between the canal and an irrigated field. The crop looked like watermelon or squash to our untrained eyes. The field next to it contained corn. The area was still in the southern outskirts of Worland.

We stopped for lunch there. We also went to the courthouse (Worland is the county seat of Washakie County) and consulted with the county planner about our route to 44N 107W.

It was a great day!
