20-Sep-2002 -- After completing 18°S 124°E, I was hoping for two confluences in one day! This confluence looked like it was 4 or 5 kilometers off of the main highway but one of my maps showed some small tracks winding much closer than that. I was unable to locate any of these tracks. A gate just off the main highway that went through to a windmill and bore looked promising but was locked.

Backtracking west a few kilometers along the main highway, I found a fenceline road heading due south and got to within 2.14 kilometers (due west) of the confluence. It would have been an easy flat walk but, with friends waiting, I simply did not have time. Good luck to the next person! (As it turned out, we stopped to help someone having fuel line problems so we missed our meeting anyway.)
