18-Jan-2002 -- I organised a weekend trip to Hassat (my favourite place in Saudi - so far) and invited Mike along. He asked if we would be near a Confluence and if yes, could we attempt it. So, after he explained it all to me I said YES. Yes there is and Yes we will try.

We travelled down from Riyāḍ on the Wed. evening about 3.5 hours drive. All sorts of owls and Jerboas and mice running across the road in our headlights. Spent the Thursday walking and photographing. On the Friday after breakfast we went for the Confluence. To be honest, this is a really easy one to find, about one km from the road on hard pack sand. After going around in circles for a while we got the spot at 13:14 hrs on 18 January 2002. Altitude 715m.
