#1: the spot

(visited by Michel Dupuis and Anne Marie Dupuis)

25-Aug-2001 -- Taking the opportunity of a trip with my wife from Paris to Annecy and back, we visited successfully five points of confluence between the 21 and the 26 august 2001 : 48N003E, 47N004E, 47N006E, 48N005E, 48N004E.

We were quite surprised coming back to discover the 48N005E confluence had been visited 3 days before we went there.

It is probably the most remote area we found among the five points, and it would have been a great surprise to find people with a GPS 3 kilometers from the closest paved road in this Chateauvillain forest,… which seems to be haunted only by game and hunters (though we saw none of them)

Unlike Jean Michel Weil, we started from the north on the D 107 from Richebourg to Chateauvillain. On this road at point N48° 01.53 E005°00.62 (2.9 kilometers from the confluence), we found a small forest road, which was not forbidden to cars, and brought us 1.02 km north of the confluence.

From there we had to walk along a fence between pieces of wood, and could luckily use holes in this fence, probably done by hunters,to get in north and out south.

We then had to cross a depression with a hiding place for hunters and climb on the south rim. Then through moss and grass among trees and bushes we came to the confluence after 22 minutes walk!

It was 17h52 on the 25 aug 2001. The GPS showed an altitude of 325 meters at 36 meters of the target.

You can see the recorded trip of this walk on one of the pictures.
