#1: The point itself.

(visited by Thomas Kunert)

14-Jun-2001 -- ... a holiday in some parts of Germany. I have noticed the project in a computer magazine.

I searched to the points which are not visited yet, and found this one is the closest to me, but there were still 350 km to go to reach the point. I thought, I can do it in one day.

I searched different maps in the web for the best driving, but I used my old paper map. It´s always the best. One friend send me a very detailed map from the confluence point and the area around it. There seems to be a road going very near to the point.

I drove road D952 to Bayonville-sur-Mad with many road constructions and found the small road going to the point crossing the rail with a short tunnel. There was a nice graveyard behind it. Some meters away there was a sawmill and the good road ends. Oops! There was only a dirt road. I decided to park my car and not to ride by bicycle. It was a good idea. I walked about an hour, first on the dirt road, then direct through the woods. There were some mud holes. It seems there are some wild boars.

I feel like Asterix.

After I have found the confluence point, I took some photos you see here on the page. It is in middle of a forest. Many insects were flying around me. Funny, there was a wood way crossing the confluence point. I used this for the way back.

I have met nobody in the hour of search. A really lonely spot. It was an interesting search, perhaps I will visit some other confluence points. I am infected.
