18-May-2001 -- This confluence is just a kilometer or two from highway 401. I was driving that way anyway, with some time to spare, so I pulled off at the nearest exit and drove around on the roads until I was within 100m of it. It was right behind a house, in the woods up a hillside. The house owner was not keen on the concept, but told me the land back there belonged to the people at the farm up the road, so I went to ask them. They were friendly. The woman was surprised that I would just take pictures, and not drive a stake to mark the spot. Since I didn't have one, we made one up on the spot.

I went in and found the exact spot without difficulty, in a very pretty clearing. The only downside was that after poking around quite a bit I discovered that all those pretty little plants are poison ivy. We will see how susceptible I am to that.

Mission accomplished, I went back to the farm to say thanks and show my digital camera pictures. We sat around and chatted for a while, it was very nice, in this case it definitely paid off to gather my courage and just ask for permission!
