21-Jun-2024 -- This CP perfectly aligned in our trip between Torre del Mar and Alhama de Granada. Our first stop was at the El Boquete de Zafarraya pass [916 m] what was formed in Triassic dolomites and Jurassic limestone. This formation hosting several caves, in one of them was discovered remains of Neanderthals. We continued our journey on a flat fertile land dedicated for vegetable cultivation, what is a huge contrast compared to surroundings terrain. When we arrived to Alhama de Granada, just before starting our walk through the gorge of the Rio Alhama we took a detour to visit first the CP. Parked close to the helipad (behind the fire station) and continued on a gravel road (moderate hike) ~450 m between almond and olive grove. The last ~50m it’s on private land between olive trees.
