30-Okt-2025 -- Deutsch Auf der Tour entlang der Sunshine Coast hatte unsere Reisegemeinschaft in Rainbow Beach eine Unterkunft gebucht. Von diesem Startpunkt machten wir Tagesausflüge auf K´gari, Carlo Sand Blow und Cooloola Cove. Auf der Fahrt durch diesen Ort und bis nach Tin Can Bay in das Barnacles Dolphin Centre machte ich mir für die Rückfahrt den Plan, diesen Confluence Punkt aufzusuchen. Leider hatte das Dolphin Center und das Caffee geschlossen und so suchte ich mir ein anderes Highlight aus, 26°S 153°E . Wir sind dann wieder in Richtung Bainbow Beach gefahren. Auf dem Queen Elisabeth Drive, 500 m vor der Auffahrt auf die Rainbow Beach Road machten wir halt. Nach 150 m in östlicher Richtung, durch dichtes Unterholz, hohen Moosteppich und Eukalypten begleitet von Mückenschwärmen erreichte ich den Punkt dann doch ganz leicht, aber gezeichnet. Am Tag vor diesem Highlight machten wir einen organisierten Tagesausflug auf die größte Sandinsel der Welt K`gari. Unser Guide Keith fuhr den Allradbus die 100 km an der Ostküste durch Wald und den Sandstrand meisterhaft. Während der Fahrt stand weder sein Mund noch der Motor still. Auch das was in vielen Büchern nachzulesen wäre. Mit dem Blick auf diesen Confluence Punkt werde ich diese Augenblicke nicht vergessen. Danke Keith. English On our tour along the Sunshine Coast, our travel group had booked accommodation in Rainbow Beach. From this starting point, we took day trips to K\'gari, Carlo Sand Blow, and Cooloola Cove. On the drive through this town and on to Tin Can Bay to the Barnacles Dolphin Center, I made a plan to visit this confluence point on the way back. Unfortunately, the Dolphin Center and the café were closed, so I chose another highlight, 26°S 153°E. We then drove back towards Rainbow Beach. We stopped on Queen Elizabeth Drive, 500 m before the turnoff to Rainbow Beach Road. After 150 m in an easterly direction, through dense undergrowth, a thick carpet of moss and eucalyptus trees, accompanied by swarms of mosquitoes, I reached the point quite easily, but exhausted. The day before this highlight, we took an organized day trip to K\'gari, the largest sand island in the world. Our guide Keith masterfully drove the four-wheel-drive bus 100 km along the east coast through forest and sandy beaches. During the trip, neither his mouth nor the engine stood still.
