Ich komme über kleine Straßen aus Osten.

Anders als alle bisherigen Besucher, versuche ich von Süd-Westen zu den Teichen bis zum Ferienhaus am See zu fahren. Die Schranke an der Zufahrt ist offen, so dass ich weiter bis zum Haus fahre und dort parke.

Am Haus ist niemand. Aber hinter den Teichen spaziert eine Familie. Ich gehe zu ihnen und erkläre mein Ziel. Sie sind die Gäste im Ferienhaus und sagen gehen sie.

An der Grundstücksgrenze beim See ist ein Zaun. Aber es führt ein schmaler Weg nach Nord-Ost in den Wald hinein. Diesem folge ich, bis das GPS mir etwa 425 m zum Nullpunkt nach links anzeigt.

Nun suche ich mir einen möglichst geraden Weg zu dem Confluenzpunkt, was mir auf dem gefrorenen Boden recht gut gelingt.

Ich nehme den gleichen Weg zurück und fahre weiter nach Riga, wo ich mich über Weihnachten eingemietet habe.

Unlike all previous visitors, I try to drive from the south-west to the ponds and on to the holiday home by the lake. The barrier at the entrance is open, so I drive on to the house and park there.

There is no one at the house. But behind the ponds, a family is out for a walk. I go up to them and explain where I am going. They are the guests at the holiday home and say,‘Go on...’

There is a fence at the edge of the property by the lake. But there is a narrow path leading north-east into the forest. I follow this until the GPS shows me that I am about 425 m away from the zero point on the left.

Now I look for the straightest possible path to the confluence point, which I manage quite well on the frozen ground.

I take the same route back and continue on to Riga, where I have rented accommodation for Christmas.
