12-Sep-2025 -- On a trip to and through Southern England, I was able to visit ten confluence points along the 51th parallel. The seventh visit took place at 51°N 3°W, England.
On our way east, now in Somerset County, we visited the beautiful Hestercombe Garden. The confluence point 51°N 3°W is only about 8 km beeline south east of this garden. From Stonehead Hill Road, turn north onto Lillesdon Lane direction north. I parked the car at the intersections of the housing estates there, about 180 m from the CP. I then walked about 150 m south to a pasture gate. I then walked along a ditch past a trough (see photo “#8”) to a second pasture gate. From there, I walked the last 190 m north directly to the exact confluence point 51°N 3°W. Despite the cloud cover, the GPS showed an accuracy of 2 m, and the necessary photos were quickly taken.
This completed the visit to five confluence points in Southern England. Our tour then continued north east to Bath.
