11-Sep-2025 -- On a trip to and through Southern England, I was able to visit ten confluence points along the 51th parallel. The sixth visit took place at 51°N 4°W, England.
After visiting Lands End as the most western location of Great Britain and now on the way direction east, we reached the area of the CP 51°N 4°W in the county of Devon. Coming from the north, on the A377 country road, via the village of Chapeltown, we were able to fill up at the Texaco gas station, just about 800 m beeline from CP 51°N 4°W. About 740 m after the gas station, I parked the car in the driveway leading into a field. From there, I walked about 260 m south along a track. From there, it was only about 60 m east across the already harvested cornfield to the exact confluence point 51°N 4°W. In perfect weather, the necessary photos were taken quickly and the confluence point visit was perfect.
The tour continued north, via Barnstaple, to the coast at Ilfracombe.
