27-Aug-2025 -- I was pleased to break up the long drive on Interstate 80 across southern Wyoming by making a short detour to visit this easy Degree Confluence Point, just 1/4 mile West of paved Seminoe Road. Although this point is very easy to visit, it’s in a rather remote region of the U.S., which explains why this was the first visit to the point since Shawn Fleming’s visit, 7 years ago.
Like Shawn, I encountered rain showers as I drove towards the point. Fortunately, however, the weather had cleared by the time I made the short hike across thinly-spaced grass (with scattered cactus) to the point, which lies in a patch of sagebrush (the default vegetation for Degree Confluence Points in the western U.S.). Power lines are visible to the West.
I wanted to get a ‘drone’s eye’ view of the point, in the hope of seeing Seminoe Reservoir, to the Northeast. Unfortunately, as I was setting up my drone, it started raining again. So I’ll have to leave aerial views for another visit.
