  38°N 114°W (visit #8)

#1: The confluence point lies in a grove of trees, just South of a gravel road. (This is also a view to the North, towards the road.)

(visited by Ross Finlayson)

18-Sep-2022 -- While driving from St. George to Moab, Utah (for mountain biking), I made a detour to revisit this point - that I’d previously visited 12 years ago - to get a drone’s-eye view of the area. From the small settlement of Modena (which looked almost like a ghost town), I drove North on Hamlin Valley Road, then West on State Line Road (misnamed, because it runs along the 38 Degrees North line of latitude, towards the Nevada state line, rather than along the state line). State Line Road passes just 200 feet North of the Degree Confluence Point. I parked at [38.00044,-113.99964], next to an ATV trail, which took me very close to the point. (The Nevada state line is less than 3 miles to the West.)

The point looked exactly the same as it did 12 years ago. As the point lies among trees, the directional photos were rather boring; the drone’s-eye view from above the point was much more interesting. (As the point is at an elevation of around 7000 feet, I got a ‘high elevation’ warning as I flew my drone.)

Here is a remote-controlled aerial video of this confluence point.
