#1: General Area looking at the confluence from 100 metres away

(visited by Shane Gerrish)

13-Jul-2021 -- While holiday planning I noted that this confluence had not actually been visited as the previous person had only gotten to 100 kilometres away so I decided to try and visit it. A mate and I drove to the nearest point on Aramac Road then drove around 2 kilometres cross country across open red soil country to approximately 400 metres away then as the surrounding bushland became quite thick we walked the rest of the way in until we were right on top of it. the area surrounding the confluence is on flat ground in red soil semi arid desert country with short mulga scrubland, the walking was fairly easy although there was a lot of dead trees littering the ground.

We could not see any hills or significant points to align ourselves with and everything looks the same in every direction so we challenged ourselves to rely on our sense of direction to find our way back to the vehicles. We did have our vehicles waypointed just in case but managed to walk straight back to them. We drove back to the road following our faint tracks through the grass and open dirt sections then continued on to the nearby Lake Dunn Sculpture trail and continued on our way.
