(visited by Philippe Burtin and Antonella Burtin)

05-Oct-2020 -- A few days vacation during the Covid 19 pandemic ! As the travel restrictions got more and more restrictive we ended up with our only option left : a road trip in our home country. So we decided to head north with the goal of visiting the Loire valley and the famous castles stringed all along the river. Traveling with our car also gave us the opportunity to visit a number of CPs lying along our itinerary.

N46 E1 was the second point of ours trip. This is the 6th visit of that point since 2001.

The point lies in a small lake, still in the water but on the very west shore ; nevertheless due to the steepness of the shore and the fallen trees and branches covering the slope the point cannot be reached on foot. We shot the picture from the narrow forest track (bring your boots !) framing the lake on the west side 10 meters due west of the actual point.

We also visited the Boscartus balancing rock that can be found 570 meters east of the point. This huge rock (estimated weight 80 tons !) is slightly tilted north / south and it can be very lightly tilted east / west. A local legend says that an indicted criminal would be declared innocent if he was able to tilt the rock East / West !

Before leaving the area we visited the small village of Blond (5 km north of the point) where one can find a medieval fortified church dating back from the 12th century.
