16-Oct-2014 -- This cp. is located in the Phetchaburi province, Thailand, which was once known as having the most palm trees in the country. There is a saying "sweet like Petchaburi sugar". In the past people in the area made sugar from palm tree juice. Now most income comes from farming, fishering and tourism.

I came from my parent home in Songkhla, 900 km. south of cp. Two companions, my sons ,Chanpakorn and Takongit agreed to visit 13N 100E which is not far from the main road No.4 Petchakasem. We arrived at Tha Yang at 2 pm., turned right to road No. 3187 and continued for 10 km by GPS navigation. When the arrow of GPS pointed to left and 900 m to go, we found the local road (paved) lead to Ban Nai Don and drove about 1 km. When got to 60 m to go we parked and walked.

At this point we saw the blue roof house that the arrow pointed to. Walked on thick grass and moist soil. The target point distance declined every step we walked, we tried to make zeros and it was easy to do due to flat area and no obstructions. As Takongit held the GPS I took the four direction photos. The sky was clear at the end of raining season, temp. around 30C.

We met the owner, they were preparing sapodilla fruit[(Manilkara zapota=ละมุด(Lamoot)] for delivery to market, during chatting they said they knew that there was something on their property. They once saw Farang(westen foreigner) on the spot but not clear what it was and why different people came to the same point. I explained about latitude, longitude, navigation by GPS device and the goal of the project, they smiled and nodded. She said she will conserve the small palm tree to mark the unknown spot. We had a chat around 20 minutes then said good bye, back to my home with my 7th. successful cp. visit.
