03-Aug-2014 – Actually I planned to visit this confluence in winter. But it didn't happen last winter and the next one still was not close. And the august continued to present the hot days.

So me and my precious old duchess both decided that we should not wait the weather by the lake. We threw the boat in the trunk, add some food and moved out the city to Priozersk town. In Priozersk we turned to Boytsovo that is on the very shore of the Vuoksa.

What was showed on a map as a village in reality turned out a big settlement formed by several sadovodstvo (horticulture association). We had strayed for some time and quite unexpectedly for ourselves went to a lake shore. There were no houses on the shore line. Vice versa we saw arranged places for swimming and launching of boats. That's what we needed!

We quickly inflated our boat and floated to the confluence. It was three and a half km from us. The wind was barely felt and the water stayed still. So we supposed to cover this distance less for an hour.

So was it. In forty minutes the confluence was located near the small nameless islet.

During GPS photo session we were drifted with the waves a little bit right into the canes. The cardinal directions pictures came out corresponding – the vegetation and some water.

Another one island hits in 100 m zone. It's slightly bigger. We choose it to have some rest before way back – by eating and swimming.

Apparently Lyaptsev brothers described this island in their report. The island is rocky and tiny, however it covered with quite strong trees and is suitable for bivouac. One can set a tent or hang a hammock. Unfortunately the traces of human presence in a form of various trashes spoil the view. We should take trash bags from home. It would be enough space in the boat. Well, we remember it for a future.
