02-Jul-2013 -- - From our cottage in Sweden`s Langfjället we went for a day trip west to the small town and port Elga on the shore of lake Femund in Norway, just 22 km away.

The day started cloudy and the blue spots on the western horizon were more or less responsible for our tour-decision. And rightly so: When arriving, the lake was wrapped in bright sunbeams, so the real 10° C could not reduce the warm summer feeling at all.

After abundant enjoyment of freshly sea air we continued with riding the road south along the eastern side of lake Femund, allowing for frequent stops because of crossing reindeer.

We passed the 62nd latitude and 2.5 km south of CP 62N 12E we turned into a forest track, leading to the western shore of lake Tolgesjöen. In our cottage I found an example of the topographical map 1 : 50.000 162 C „Grövelsjön“ from 1991, including the Tolgesjöen and helping us for orientation. North of the lake another, smaller track diverged from our road in eastern direction. After 900 m along this way we stopped our care close to the 12th longitude with remaining 80 m to the spot across a soft forest floor. The CP nests about 150 m north of the lake, as Herman Grebner reported on his last visit. In this respect my old map shows a differing information. The map indicates the interception of latitude and longitude further south, directly on the lakeshore. At the next opportunity I`ll check the topography in the actual maps of this region.

At 2 p.m. the photos were quickly taken, while the first rain showers eclipsed the southern end of lake Femund already. So our next decision was also quickly made: Back to Elga into the afternoon sunshine. In fact, here the patch of blue sky successfully defended its position, and the rain firstly caught us when reaching the Langfjället in the evening.
