No dia 16 de fevereiro de 2010, terça-feira de carnaval, saímos eu (Filipe Chaves), Dimas Ferreira e Dimas Júnior, de Teresina-PI em direção à cidade de Duque Bacelar-MA ás 08:00h. Seguimos na BR-316, em direção à cidade de Caxias-MA, em seguida pegamos a MA-034 com destino à Duque Bacelar, passando por Coelho Neto. Observamos a vegetação típica e bem distinta do estado do Maranhão, a Mata de Cocais. Chegamos em Duque Bacelar ás 10:30h e seguimos em direção à Buriti, onde após 10km viramos a esquerda até o povoado de Felicidade, onde estacionamos o carro próximo a uma humilde casa e seguimos até o destino final à pé.

Subimos uma elevação de 30m e continuamos numa trilha até um vilarejo maior, a trilha parece que era feita justamente para a confluência, caminhamos aproximadamente 1.200m até o local exato da confluência, onde chegamos às 11:30h, o ponto ficava no meio da trilha e bem próximo a uma bifurcação. O calor era muito grande, misturando-se a isso uma umidade enorme, dando a sensação de uma temperatura bem maior. Os mosquitos (Mutucas), não deram descanso ao Major Dimas, que foi duramente perseguido. Fizemos as fotos previstas, observamos o local e voltamos em seguida. Retornamos à Teresina chagando por volta das 15:00h, onde fomos recepcionados com uma almoço muito saboroso feito pela Tatiana, esposa do Dimas e mãe do Dimas Jr. Após a conclusão da nossa aventura, creio que o GAPI (Grupo de Aventura Programa de Índio) terá mais dois novos componentes.

On 16 February 2010, Tuesday of Carnival, I went out (Filipe Chaves), Dimas Ferreira and Dimas Júnior, from Teresina-PI towards the city of Duque Bacelar-MA at 08:00am. We follow the BR-316, toward the city of Caxias-MA, and then took the MA-034 bound for Duque Bacelar, passing Coelho Neto. We observed the typical vegetation and very different state of Maranhao, the Forest of Groves. We arrived at Duke Roy at 10:30am and went toward Buriti, where after 10km turn left to the town of Felicidade, where we parked the car next to a humble home and went to the final destination on foot.

We climbed a high of 30 meters and continue on a path to a larger village, the trail seems to have been done exactly to the confluence, we walk about 1.200m to the exact location of the confluence, where we arrived at 11:30, the point was in the middle of the track and very close to a bifurcation. The heat was very great, mixing with huge moisture, giving the impression of a much higher temperature. Mosquitoes (Mutucas), did not gave Major Dimas a brake, who was severely persecuted. We took the photos; observe the site and then come back. We return to Teresina around 15:00, where we were greeted with a very tasty lunch made by Tatiana, Dimas’s wife and mother of Dimas Jr. Upon completion of our adventure, I believe the GAPI (Group Adventure Indian Program) will have two new components.
