(visited by John Heckendorf)

09-Mar-2008 -- Work had taken me to Jindabyne and then I had a lazy day to get back to Sydney with about 6hrs spare. WHat to do? find another confluence point not too far off the track and go take some pics. Well without a decent camera I had to rely on my phone for pics - I hope they are ok.

I left Jindabyne at about 10am and drove north to Cooma and then travelled towards Shannons Flat - the air was crisp and clean. I had both my Tomtom Go910 and my GPSmap60cs with me so it was a no-brainer to find the closest road point to this mark.

I scampered over a fence and up the hill about 70 or so metres. The grass cover was quite low and there were miriads of small grasshoppers jumping out of my was as I walked up the hill. I easily found the point, took some pics and then continued north along Boboyan Rd and up through the Namadgi National Park, past Mount Clear and through to Canberra.

This road is not a highway by any stretch of the imagination and I would recommend allowing plenty of time if you want to take a family sedan along these roads as it is very steep in places. Highest elevation through here was 1408m.
