27-Aug-2005 -- В период с 12 по 30 августа 2005 года мы совершили автопробег по российско-украинским дорогам, в ходе которого посетили следующие точки: 49N040E, 45N036E, 45N034E, 46N034E, 51N037E, 52N036E, 54N037E, 54N038E, 56N041E, 56N052E, 57N053E.

Вернувшись в Москву и немного отдохнув, мы решили все-таки реабилитироваться за досадную неудачу, постигшую нас год назад в этих же краях (см. рассказ о посещении точки 51N040E), когда лишь двести с небольшим метров отделяло нас от заветной точки, но обстоятельства не позволили нам ее открыть. Поэтому, взяв с собой свою дочь Анастасию и племянника Константина, я отправился в Тульскую область, чтобы посетить точки 54N037E и 54N038E. Точки оказались несложными и были открыты за один день.

Что касается точки 54N038E, то она была открыта буквально влет, т.к. дорогу к ней мы знали уже наизусть, да и погода благоприятствовала, что позволило нам вплотную приблизиться к точке, не покидая авто.

27-Aug-2005 -- In the period from the 12th to the 30th of August 2005, we completed an automobile race on Russian-Ukrainian roads during which we visited the following points: 49N040E, 45N036E, 45N034E, 46N034E, 51N037E, 52N036E, 54N037E, 54N038E, 56N041E, 56N052E, 57N053E.

Having returned to Moscow, and having gotten a little rest, we decided still to make up for the annoying failure which befell us one year ago in the same area (see the story about visiting the point 51N040E) when just over two hundred meters separated us from the treasured point, but circumstance did not allow us to visit it. Therefore, having taken with myself my daughter Anastacia and nephew Konstantin, I went to the Tula area to visit points 54N037E and 54N038E. The points looked simple and were visited in one day.

As for the point 54N038E, it was visited literally on the fly, since we already knew the road to it by heart, and the weather was favourable, which allowed us to approach closely to the point without leaving the car.

P.S.: We express our regrets for the delay with the publication of the information on our visiting this point.

Attention: In December 1989 the area around the Confluence had a radioactive surface contamination from Caesium-137 of 37-185 kBq/m², the half-life of Cs-137 being 30 years. Thus the time of stay in this area should be kept as short as possible and appropriate measures should be taken by the visitors to protect themselves against any radioactive contamination.
