#1: MB-NT-NU-SK Boundary Monument

(visited by Brian Butler)

22-Jul-2001 -- This is the boundary junction of Manitoba, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, and Saskatchewan.

The easiest approach involves a 264 mile drive on gravel roads, then a 145 mile trip by float plane, then a 1 mile boat trip, then a half mile hike through muskeg and mosquitos.

Definitely worth the effort.

Coordinator's Note: This wasn't really an unsuccessful Confluence visit - it was actually a successful Boundary Point visit!

For the whole story, including photos, go to Brian's website

The NAD27 coordinates of the monument, when converted to WGS84, show the monument to be located to the North and West of 60°N 102°W. The monument defines the location of the provincial/territorial boundaries, therefore this confluence is located in Manitoba.
