#1: The Confluence Point

(visited by Jost Jahn)

16-Apr-2001 -- This is the second and last confluence point in the country of "Schleswig-Holstein", part of Germany. I was born in this fine country "between the oceans" (North and East Sea), as the melody of this country sounds.

So it was a must after a visit at my parents during the Easter days to make a short visit at this location. I was happy to see the location outside a military station, which are often at Boostedt near to this CP. I imagine the face of the soldier at the gate, if I show him the english-language letter of the CP project....

Because it was outside I looked at a paved road and find the road on the street map by mapblast. I used the nearby railroad to get near to the CP. But I must went at last through wet rural area (weather was bad with very little sprinkle water raining). At the CP I saw a better not paved "road", but more nearby to the local street! If you go to this CP, stop at the military complex park area and go directly through this way to the CP.

Looking around near the CP I found a water rinse for the wet rural area, some of waste and a very big (for Germany) field (don´t know what there is growing). More far away I can see the military complex and the railway with a small pass for the machines of the farmer. The railway is running about one each half an hour.

Over my head there were some birds looking for mouses or so. Beside the weather the place is very calm and maybe in summer you may have a nice and pleasent look at the water rinse.

After about an hour (making some panorama etc) I left the place and went ahead for the second CP (53N10E) this day.
