21-Aug-2017 -- We had experienced one of the coolest things ever earlier in the day, the Total Solar Eclipse at 44N 114W and were making our way back south after a delay in Hailey to get a new spare tire for the RZR.

Jerry and I met up with Ross Finlayson once again for another confluence visit. We turned east off US-26 (US-93) onto a dirt road that is unnamed in GoogleEarth or GoogleMaps but is identified as Jim Brown Bridge Road in Google Street View.

We followed Ross in the RZR until the closest point of approach and then started walking. The entire area was grassy with clusters of basalt rocks everywhere. I decided that the RZR would cover the distance to the confluence much faster. The area was in a slight bowl like depression with a short horizion in all directions but there was strong cell phone coverage!

We took lots of pictures and Ross flew his drone to create this video of the general area and then we headed back to our vehicles and pavement at US-93.

Post processing of the GPS data (485 positions) reveals that my Trimble GPS receiver was 4.1 meters bearing 350 degrees from the actual confluence with a Horizontal Precision of 2.9 meters.

Total time off US-93 was just under two hours and 18.9 miles round trip.
