21-Apr-2016 -- Taking advantage of a long holiday in April, we promenade part of the central area of São Paulo state. In this trip were able to conquer four new confluences.

On Thursday, 21 April, after a great lunch in São Carlos (and having conquered the confluence 22S 48W), we set out towards West. On a secondary route but in very good condition (SP-215), we went to see some towns, such as Ribeirão Bonito and Dourado. Then changing route several times, we passed by Bocaina, Bariri and Itaju.

The interior of São Paulo is dotted with cities (large or small) that usually provide architectural ensembles very rich, in the majority of cases inheritance of the coffee years that occupied much of the 19th century and began to decline from the 1930's. Walking through these cities, palaces, very well maintained, with tree-lined squares and gardens of different styles, with big houses that justifies a visit. São Carlos, Dourado, Bocaina are only some of the many examples with which we can find.

Leaving behind Itaju, arrived at the banks of the river Tietê, that born in the Serra do Mar near Salesópolis then cut in two the city of São Paulo, turning it into a water course quite polluted, and later go deep into the interior of the State (at Itaju already have a much more significant size, and its waters are almost clean), which lead to the Paraná (many km later going to deposit their water in La Plata river to my city natal, Buenos Aires). There is a raft, making the crossing every 30 minutes to cross the River at this point. The value I was pleasantly surprised: just 9 reais. Expected quite more, considering them many and expensive tolls that are condemned to pay by the roads of São Paulo. After 10 minutes of raft already were in Arealva, the city in the margin opposite of the River, and in the confluence area.

About 10 km after Arealva we went to SP-321 route at Jacuba (a small town), we turned right and the few kilometers again right into a dirty road. This path led us to approximately 1500 meters of the confluence, facing a pad lock gate. We leave the car at gate to not block the road, and it is very important not to interfere with the road since although it is very quiet and seemingly little busy, huge sugarcane trucks that past sometimes not so slow, are raising vast clouds of dust on roads not so firm.

After crossing the gate the first 500 meters are by a path (with signals of be traveled by trucks) that ends in a second gate, starting the best part of the day: a walk by a beautiful green grass field dotted with some isolated Palm trees, were after 900 meters by this landscape idyllic we get put in zero the GPS and start our way back. Unfortunately in all this section I didn't see anyone to introduce myself and ask for permission, even an animal. Only nature and the sounds of the field at sunset.

Returning to the auto we started our way back by the route SP-321 that led us directly, with a beautiful full moon, to the city of Bauru, where would spend the night.
