03-Jun-2005 -- After visiting our friends in Lavras we left for Dom Pedrito to ask for help from Mr. Marco Firpo to find the owner of the land where 31ºS 55ºW is located. There we got to see some maps of the area with Mr. Marco and his son Mário that were very kind with us.

After buying water and something to eat, in a supermarket of the city, we proceeding for the Novo Modelo lodge that is 30 km to west of Dom Pedrito.

It was after noon when we arrived to the lodge and asked the person in charge permission to enter in the grounds and seek the confluence. We got to move forward until 800 meters of the point with our 4x4 and had to follow the remaining by foot. The arrival to the point was easy with just some fences to jump.

In this part of the state of Rio Grande do Sul the soil is waved slightly and we can see far in all directions. The cattle breeding is the main economical activity.
