#1: Nullarbor Plain an awesome expanse of sameness.

(visited by John Bylund)

13-May-1998 -- The northern Nullarbor plain is an awesome expanse of almost flat limestone which stretches for hundreds of kilometers. For days of travel you can look in any direction and see the flat horizon. There are occasional depressions which have accumulated enough top soil and moisture to grow a few trees. Otherwise it is mostly treeless, hence 'Nul - arbour' meaning no trees.
